Laurence Nicolas

I had the pleasure to work with Laurence on several occasions and every time she would tell me how difficult it is for her to be photographed. And even now, as I meet her again at Dior’s to photograph her hands, she tells me that I should have rather picked someone else, someone more beautiful and more creative than her. But to me, Ms. Nicolas is all that and much more. She developed and established a serious ‘Fine Jewellery’ and ‘Timepieces’ division at Dior within the last fifteen years and has been appointed executive vice president, global managing director of jewellery and watches at Sotheby’s in 2018. I admire that despite all her achievements, she remained the sensitive and humble girl who once grew up in Africa.
